An elasto-viscoplastic consistent tangent operator (CTO) concept-based impl
icit algorithm for nonlinear boundary element methods is presented. Both ki
nematic and isotropic strain hardening are considered. The elasto-viscoplas
tic radial return algorithm (RRA) and the elasto-viscoplastic CTO and its r
elated scheme are developed. In addition, the limit cases (e.g. elastoplast
ic problem) of viscoplastic RRA and CTO are discussed. Finally, numerical e
xamples, which are compared with the latest FEM results of Ibrahimbegovic e
t at. and ABAQUS results, are provided.
