The iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(LI) complexes of
1-crotonyl-2,4-diaza-1,3-butanedione (cru) have been prepared. They have be
en characterized by elemental analyses, conductance, room temperature magne
tic susceptibility, infrared, electronic, H-1 and C-13 NMR spectral data. B
ased on the analytical data, the stoichiometry of the complexes is 1.2. The
conductivity shows that all of these complexes are non-electrolytes. The s
tudies indicate that the geometry around the metal ion of the complexes is
octahedral.
