Abstract
This article chronicles the history of Working for Equality and Economic Li beration (WEEL), a Montana-based grassroots advocacy and educational organi zation that emerged in response to welfare reform. It discusses the develop ment of WEEL, the feminist principles that undergird it, and WEEL's accompl ishments, challenges, and links to a broad-based network of other groups.
