Abstract
In contrast to the literature that deals with specific repatriation ru le, in this note the general condition under which tariff-induced capi tal inflow/outflow will increase/reduce the welfare of a small tariff- ridden economy is investigated, The derivation is simple and the resul ts obtained embrace all repatriation rules.
