Abstract
Neutron transmutation doped (NTD) Ge irradiated 12 years ago, and henc e with a low background radioactivity, was used to make thermometric s ensors mounted on pure silicon targets. gamma-ray detection with a sen sitivity in the range of 1 keV was achieved in a 5.7 g target. An exce ss heat capacity of the detector in the range of 20 - 60 mK was measur ed in irradiation experiments. The role of adsorbed gases was studied.
