Angular fluctuations of stochastic gravitational wave backgrounds (GWB) pro
duced by extragalactic astrophysical sources are calculated. The angular pr
operties of such backgrounds are determined by the large scale structure of
Universe (galaxy clustering). The evolution of star formation rate with re
dshift is taken into account. Fluctuations of the metric strain amplitude a
ssociated with such noises at angular scales of about one degree are found
to be of the order of 5-20% slowly growing toward smaller angular scales. T
his feature can be potentially used to separate astrophysical GWB from cosm
ological ones in future experiments.
