The shape of exciton-magnon band in light absorption spectra of the qu
asi-two-dimensional antiferromagnet NH3(CH2)2NH3MnCl4 has been studied
. At low temperatures the peculiarities of band shape which deviate fr
om the framework of assumed before two-sublattice model were found. Th
ey are related to doubling of the crystal lattice period which inevita
bly requires a loss of the inversion operation in the spatial group of
the crystal.
