Statistical-mechanical entropy of the general static black hole due to electromagnetic field

Statistical-mechanical entropy arising from the electromagnetic field in th e general four-dimensional static black hole spacetime is investigated by m eans of the "brick wall" model. An expression for the entropy is obtained a nd some examples are considered. The results show that the entropy arising from the electromagnetic field is exactly twice the one for a massless scal ar field.
