The feeding pattern of Pagrus caeruleostictus living in Nouakchott coasts (
Mauritania) has been studied by stomach contents analysis. The variations o
f the vacuity coefficient were apparently in relation with reproduction. Th
is sparid principally fed on Crustaceans and Molluscs (preferential prey),
secondarily Annelids and Echinoderms, Fish and Nematods being complementary
prey. The diet of P. caeruleostictus changed slightly with seasons.
