J. Linnenberg et al., Long-time sampling of particulate and filter-passing heavy metals in purified flue gases of technical firing plants, GEFAHR R L, 60(5), 2000, pp. 223-227
In the present paper a sampling system will be represented, which is suitab
le for long-time sampling of emissions as well particulate as filter-passin
g heavy metals in purified flue gases of technical firing plants. The syste
m extracts isokinetically a sampling gas flow from a flue gas stream. The p
articulate matter is separated on a plane filter. A part of the dust separa
ted sampling gas flow passes two steps of separation in which the filter-pa
ssing heavy metal emissions are collected. In the first step of separation
the substances to be collected will first be absorbed continuously in a new
developed absorption-flow-system and then, in this form, be enriched to sp
ecial ion exchangers. The second step of separation makes use of the adsorp
tion on iodized activated carbon. The system largely runs automatically. Th
e received samples will be analysed time-shifted in a laboratory. The sampl
ing system has been installed at a measuring site of a fossil fired plant f
or four months to determine emitted heavy metals inform of daily averages.
The results of this investigation will be presented in uni- and multivariat
e view.
