Abstract
A series of neuroleptic agents and their structural isomers have been teste d as inhibitors of HIV-replication. At non-toxic concentrations, cis (Z)- a nd trans (E)-flupentixol and several derivatives of the 5HT-uptake-inhibito rs paroxetine and femoxetine, inhibit HIV-1 replication. The findings indic ated that these compounds could be used in combination with other anti-retr oviral therapy in HIV-1 infected patients with AIDS-related dementia.
