PHASE-DIAGRAM (H,T) INVESTIGATION OF A SINGLE-CRYSTAL OF ERBIUM BY DIRECT MEASUREMENT OF DR DT

We have developed a sinusoidal temperature modulation method to provid e direct access to the derivative of the resistance with respect to te mperature dR/dT. The high sensitivity of the experimental set-up allow s us to point out a new magnetic spin ordering in erbium. We present a detailed phase diagram for a single crystal oriented along the c axis , in the ranges (4 - 300 K) and (0 - 5 T).
