Abstract
A strong enhancement of exciton emission accompanied by a line narrowing ha s been found for (Zn,Cd,Mn)Se/ZnSe QW and QW-disc structures with increasin g magnetic field. The line narrowing is caused by a field-induced smoothing of the compositional disorder potential on a microscopic and mesoscopic sc ale. whereas the intensity increases due to the spin dependence of the ener gy transfer into the internal Mn2+(3d(5)) states. In specially designed dou ble QW structures a huge anti-Stokes PL has been observed. (C) 2000 Elsevie r Science B.V. All rights reserved.
