Abstract
Synthesis of large crystals of the europium-doped iodo- and telluromolybdat e compounds is described and structural determination is performed. K(NH4)[ RE(IMo6O24)(H2O)(5)]. 4H(2)O, REIMo, RE = La-Eu, is triclinic and (NH4)(3)[ RE(TeMo6O24)(H2O)(5)]. 4H(2)O, RETeMo, RE = La-Eu, monoclinic. The rare-ear th ion occupies in both compounds C-s symmetry site. The luminescence analy sis with europium as a local structural probe confirms the crystallographic structure.
