Properties, relevant for PDP application, of Mn2+ -activated Zn2SiO4 phosph
ors non-co-activated and co-activated with Ba2+, Cd2+, Fe2+, Fe3+, Al3+/L-i
+ or Gd3+/Li+ were investigated. For Zn(1.95)Mn0.05SiO4, co-activation with
Ba2+ and Gd3+ reduces the tau(10%) value at 170 nm excitation from 17 to 1
0 ms with efficiencies still 86% relative to non-co-activated Zn2SiO4 : Mn2
+. The tau(10%) value increases For co-activation with Fe2+ or high concent
ration of Cd2+ Decay properties were also studied as a function of excitati
