Some sources for the history of maritime trade in Malta

In contrast to the attention given to Malta's political, religious and cult ural history, the study of the island's all-important trade links have rece ived scarce attention, but this is not for lack of adequate sources. This s hort communication looks at some of the archival sources available for this purpose, in particular, the documentation of the Consolato di Mare and tha t of the Malta Chamber of Commerce.
