Abstract
The reaction of [Et3NH][(mu-RE)(mu-CO)Fe-2(CO)(6)] (E = S, Se) (1) with ary l azides gives bridging triazenido complexes (mu-RE)(mu-p-(RC6H4N3H)-C-1)Fe -2(CO)(6) (2-8) (2, RE = (BuS)-S-t, R-1 = H; 3, RE = PhS, R-1 = H; 4, RE = (BuS)-S-t, R-1 = Cl; 5, RE = (BuS)-S-t, R-1 = MeO; 6, RE = PhS, R-1 = MeO; 7, RE = PhSe, R-1 = H; 8, RE = PhSe, R-1 = Cl). These complexes were charac terized by elemental analyses and H-1-NMR and IR spectroscopy. The structur e of complex 2, established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, s hows that the triazenido ligand binds to two iron centers in a bridging bid entate fashion.
