Elastic and inelastic neutron scattering study of dl-camphene has been
performed in the temperature range from 295 to 10K. The IINS spectra
have been taken on two spectrometers of differnt resolving power. In t
he plastic phase vibrational spectra are broadened as a consequence of
stochastic reorientation of camphene molecule, and the characteristic
frequencies of intramolecular vibrations cannot be observed. These fr
equencies in dl-camphene can only be observed below the phase transiti
on temperature. An interpretation of the frequency modes in the phonon
spectra is proposed.
