Abstract
CuFe1.6Cr0.4O4-BaTiO3 composites were prepared using conventional ceramic d ouble sintering process. The presence of both the phases in composite was c onfirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The variation of dielectric constant ( epsilon') with frequency in the range 100 Hz to 1 MHz and also with tempera ture at a fixed frequency of 10 KHz was studied. AC conductivity was derive d from dielectric constant (epsilon') and loss tangent (tan delta) measurem ents. The nature of conduction is discussed in the light of polaron hopping model. The static value of magnetoelectric conversion factor, i.e. DC(ME)( H) has been studied as a function of intensity of magnetic field. The maxim um value of DC(ME)H was found to be 95.6 mu V cm(-1) Oe. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
