Abstract
Exogenous DNA interaction with rabbit sperm cells and its transfer into ova has been studied. It was shown that rabbit sperm cells are able to capture , hold, and transfer exogenous DNA to ova during fertilization. Sperm/DNA t ransfer leads to genetically transformed offspring. Transfection efficiency varied within a large range. Low expression and rearrangements of the tran sgene were observed. (C) 2000 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
