Abstract
A total of 62 nematode species belonging to 23 genera and 11 families are r ecorded from 20 snake and 21 lizard species. The genera Kalicephalus, Spaul igodon, Ophidascaris and Abbreviata are especially well represented with be tween five and eight species per genus. The most nematode species were reco rded from the flap-neck chameleon, Chamaeleo dilepis (eight), the puff-adde r, Bitis arietans (eight) and the water monitor, Varanus niloticus (seven). All synonyms of parasites and hosts are given.
