Abstract
The theory of the linear 2-DEG response to an incident bulk acoustic w ave is developed, based on a system of quantum kinetic equations. Two limiting cases are considered: I. the ideal 2-DEG II. a 2-DEG in a smo oth random potential (R0 much-greater-than l(B); R0 and l(B) are the c haracteristic scale of the random potential and the magnetic length re spectively).
