Abstract
We present the simulation results by using a two-dimensional electromagneti c and relativistic particle-in-cell (PIC) code that both whistler and elect romagnetic waves can be emitted from a region where the Kelvin-Helmloltz in stability occurs in electron-ion plasmas. The emission mechanism of the whi stler waves is due to the generation of electron Hall current, which is pro duced by the electron vortex motions associated with the Kelvin-Helmholtz i nstability.
