Abstract
Congenital lateral patellar luxation is very infrequent in miniature puppie s. A case report of a six weeks-old Yorkshire-terrier affected bilaterally with this condition is presented here. The authors suggest and use an origi nal surgical treatment taking in account the lack of maturity of the puppy' s musculoskeletal system. At the end of a three months duration postoperati ve radiological and clinical follow-up, the radiological aspect of the stif le joints is tremendously modified. The distal physis of the femur seems to be unaffected and the puppy shows no sequelae, exhibiting signs of good fu nctional rehabilitation.
