Abstract
With increasing casting speed or/and the addition of B, P or S as microallo ying elements, assurance of crack-free products becomes more difficult. A n ew laboratory test method is developed which allows to study crack formatio n under conditions closely simulating the solidification in the continuous casting mould. Pertinent results and their potential application to CC proc ess control are described in the paper.
