Dynamics and genetic control of the transformation of alpha-macroglobullinallogroups in different populations of domestic pig

The results of genetic studies of transformation of alpha-macroglobullin (A M) allogroups (i.e., fixed allotype combinations) in pigs are presented. Po pulation and hybridization studies showed that the phenomenon discovered wa s based on activation/inactivation of the AM1 allotype expression, which de pended on the genetic environment and interlocus relationships. Genetic and selection bases, as well as the significance of the transformation phenome non described, are discussed.
