Abstract
Fe-2(CO)(9) in benzene is effective in removing the oxygen from 5,12-epoxy- 5,12-dihydro-5,12-dimethyl-1,4-benzodioxino[2,3-g]isoquinoline to give 5,12 -dimethyl-1,4-benzodioxino[2,3-g]isoquinoline, an analogue of ellipticine, a known antitumour agent.(1-2).
