Forelimbs of thirteen cats were examined in order to describe auxiliary syn
ovial structures for the brachial biceps and brachial muscles at the level
of the elbow joint. In addition findings were compared to results obtained
in two tigers and one cougar. A constant synovial bursa - the bicipitoradia
l bursa - was found between the tendon of insertion of the brachial biceps
muscle and the radius in all cats investigated. Another constant bursa was
observed between the merged tendon of insertion of the brachial and the cle
idobrachial muscles and the tendon of the brachial biceps muscle.
