Abstract
Forty-two heads of cattle were used for laparoscopic examination in the reg ion of Fossa paralumbalis dextra. The objective of this study was to establ ish an appropriate method and to clarify causes of complications, which occ urred traumatically such as injuries to the right kidney. In case of adipos e animals it was difficult to perforate the peritoneum from the right hand side. In most cases it was necessary to insufflate carbon dioxide to obtain sufficient space for visualizing the organs. Using an insufflation-rate of three liters per minute a total amount of thirty-five liters of CO2-gas wa s insufflated into the peritoneal cavity. During the endoscopic examination of the abdominal cavity organs were photographed; physiological situs, col our and surface of the organs were described.
