Abstract
For transonic flows around wings a general zonal approach has been develope d that divides the domain of integration into different zones with differen t solution techniques. Specific aspects of the implementation of this algor ithm on parallel computers are presented. In a first application explicit a nd implicit time integrations are combined using discretizations of the Eul ar and Navier-Stokes equations in different zones around an airfoil and a w ing for block-structured grids. In addition, the efficiency of different gr id topologies is investigated.
