Abstract
The flow and separation of a suspension of light, spherical particles durin g spin vp from rest in a cylindrical rank with an inner sidewall is investi gated numerically, using finite differences. Furthermore, separation in an axisymmetric, rotating source sink-flow is considered. The governing equati ons are formulated in cylindrical coordinates and a rotating frame of refer ence, using the "mixture model".
