Abstract
The present paper deals with the study of the essential spectrum of the sel fadjoint matrix operator which is given by a system of singular differentia l operators of mixed order. It is shown that in addition to the parts which are natural from the regular case a new part of the essential spectrum ari ses due to the singularity.
