Abstract
The molecular structure of 1-methylpyrrolidine-2,5-dione, C5H7NO2, correspo nds to the dicarbonyl tautomer with an envelope ring conformation. The pack ing is stabilized by weak intermolecular hydrogen bonds and presents push-p ull nucleophile-electrophile interactions of the carbonyl groups.
