Abstract
The study of the ground state of liquid and solid He-4 in two dimensio ns (2D) and at zero temperature, using Variational Monte Carlo (VMC) m ethod, is presented. The trial wave functions used include the shadow wave function (SWF) and the recently proposed extended shadow wave fun ction (ESWF), as well as Jastrow (JWF), Jastrow-Nosanow (JNWF) and Jas trow+Triplet wave function (JTWF).
