Abstract
We present details for the laser manipulation of group III atoms, specifica lly aluminum, gallium, and indium. The practical considerations of accompli shing this manipulation are discussed and alternative schemes are presented for each species. The possibility of using such an optical technique for c omposition modulation during semiconductor growth for the fabrication of qu antum wire and quantum dot structures is also discussed.
