Abstract
Acoustic C-scan imaging (acoustic microscopy) by means of supercritical par ametric wave phase conjugation (WPC) is studied experimentally. A phase con jugator based on a magneto-acoustic active material is used for compensatin g phase distortions introduced by solid and polymer aberration layers cover ing objects (electronic integrated circuits as examples). Improvement of im ages is demonstrated on an acoustic microscope, operating at a frequency of 10 MHz. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S0003- 6951(00)00321-1].
