T. Jeanfaivre et al., BENIGN CLEAR-CELL TUMOR (SUGAR TUMOR) - A RARE CAUSE OF AN INTRAPULMONARY COIN LESION, Revue des maladies respiratoires, 14(3), 1997, pp. 223-224
The autors report a case of a 25 years old woman in whom a coin lesion
was fortuitously discovered. Initial investigations were negative and
an exploratory thoractomy was performed, which enabled a benign clear
cell tumour of the lung to be found (sugar tumour). This rare benign t
umour whose cellular origin remains indeterminate is in general discov
ered in a fortuitous manner after a chest x-ray has been performed sho
wing a round peripheral opacity. The diagnosis is confirmed following
the excision of the tumour, complementary examinations are nor helpful
