Abstract
Let phi(1),..., phi(n) (n greater than or equal to 2) be nonzero integers s uch that the equation [GRAPHICS] is solvable in integers x(1),..., x(n) not all zero. It is shown that there exists a solution satisfying [GRAPHICS] and that the constant 2 is best possible.
