Mj. Tasse et al., Translation and validation of the Canadian-French version of Nisonger child behavior rating form, CAN PSYCH, 41(2), 2000, pp. 116-123
We have translated the Nisonger Child Behavior Rating Form (Nisonger CBRF)
into French. The resulting Grille d'evaluation comportementale pour enfants
Nisonger (GECEN) was completed by 383 parents and 328 teachers. The congru
ence coefficients between the factor structure obtained from the Quebec dat
a and that obtained from the American data are also presented. Except for t
he congruence coefficient for the "irritability" scale from the GECEN-teach
er (.30), the congruence coefficients for the parent (.61 to .98) and teach
er (.74 to .98) profiles exhibit a good level of factor stability between t
he Nisonger CBRF and the GECEN. The internal consistency indicators are goo
d (a = .70) to excellent Col = .92) for the GECEN-parent and the GECEN-teac
her. The clinical applications of this dual diagnosis assessment tool (ment
al retardation and psychopathology) among children and teenagers are discus
sed.
