Abstract
A model of energy transfer from a heavy slow liner to a light and fast one is presented. Simple criteria, for the optimum mass ratio of the two liners are derived and made more precise by a numerical solution of the equations of motion. Practical limitations and an application to inertial confinemen t fusion are mentioned.
