M. Siqueira et al., WEAK ANOMALY IN THE NUCLEAR MAGNETIC-SUSCEPTIBILITY OF 2-DIMENSIONAL FLUID HE-3 FILMS ADSORBED ON GRAPHITE, Physica. B, Condensed matter, 194, 1994, pp. 627-628
The nuclear magnetic susceptibility of a single atomic layer of fluid
He-3 adsorbed on the surface of graphite under various preplating cond
itions has been measured to below 1mK. A small but clear anomaly has b
een seen, corresponding to a local maximum in the susceptibility near
3mK. No large frequency shift or change in linewidth suggestive of a p
-wave superfluid transition has been observed. The observed susceptibi
lity enhancements over that of an ideal Fermi gas indicate that the qu
asiparticle interactions do not vary with the preplatings studied thus
far.
