Abstract
A novel efficient synthesis of 2-styryl-6(7)-bromothiazolo[4,5-b]quinoxalin e based fluorescent dyes was achieved by the condensation of 2-alkyl-6(7)-b romothiazolo [4,5-b]quinoxaline with selected 4-N,N-dialkylamino-substitute d arylaldehydes and heteroarylaldehydes in the presence of piperidine or ac id anhydride. The colouristic, fluorophoric, and dyeing properties of these dyes were studied. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
