Abstract
By using a V-V- or Mo-VI-catalyzed two-phase procedure for oxybromination o f organic substrates, adamantylideneadamantane bromonium salts (ADABr(+)X(- ); X- = V-V- and Mo-VI-containing anions) have been isolated and characteri zed. These salts proved to be significantly more stable relative to the cor responding tribromide derivative.
