Abstract
Lifetimes of low-lying states in La-125,La-127 nuclei were measured us ing the recoil distance method. The nuclei were produced by the Mo-94( Cl-35,2p2n) and Cd-112(F-19,4n) reactions, respectively. Experimental results were described in the framework of the core quasiparticle coup ling model, It was found that the observed bands can be reasonably wel l described as pi g(7/2), pi g(9/2) and pi h(11/2) quasiparticle confi gurations coupled to elongated (beta(2) approximate to 0.28) triaxial cores. No evidence for a rapid change of the nuclear shape in the pi h (11/2) band in La-127 is seen in our data.
