Abstract
Fusion cross section measurements for the O-16,O-18 + Ni-58,Ni-60,Ni-6 4 systems, in the energy range 38 less than or equal to E(lab)less tha n or equal to 64 MeV are presented, The standard radius deviations obt ained from the data analysis, considering the zero-point motion of the nuclear surface, are compared to those associated to quadrupole and p airing vibration modes. Using the optical model analysis of the elasti c data, the connection between the threshold anomaly and the subbarrie r fusion enhancement is investigated.
