P. Alexa et al., CALCULATION OF THE SHELL-MODEL ENERGIES FOR STATES IN A VARIETY OF CONFIGURATIONS IN BI-208, Physical review. C. Nuclear physics, 55(6), 1997, pp. 3170-3173
The well known experimental levels of Bi-208 have been calculated with
a generalized intermediate coupling model with Gaussian potential wit
h and without an octupole phonon interaction parameter . The neutron-p
roton interaction parameters are taken from those obtained in the calc
ulation of 34 experimental levels in Bi-210. The goodness of fit of th
e calculated energies to the energies of the 36 experimentally assigne
d states in Bi-208 is quite remarkable in spite of the fact that the n
eutron-proton interaction parameters have been transferred from fittin
g in Bi-210. a neutron shell away. Finally, the calculated levels of B
i-208 are compared with those calculated by a delta ford.
