Abstract
The section of the Triassic System in the Tyumenskaya superdeep borehole SD -6 (Urengoi region, West Siberia) is analyzed. Various notions of the Trias sic stratigraphy of the West-Siberian Plate are considered. Paleontological (palynological and floristic) description of the system and its boundaries in the SD-6 section are reported. The Facies zonation of the Triassic depo sits in West Siberia and the basic scheme of their stratification are prese nted. The Triassic petroleum potential is outlined.
