Abstract
Nakagami distribution has proven useful for modeling multipath faded envelo pe in wireless channels. The shape parameter of the Nakagami distribution, known as the m parameter, can he estimated in different ways. In this contr ibution, the performance of the inverse normalized variance, Tolparev-Polya kov, and the Lorenz estimators have been compared through Monte Carlo simul ation, and it has been observed that the inverse normalized variance estima tor is superior to the others over a broad range of m values.
