Abstract
Various 3-arylfuro[3,2-c]coumarins 3a-t have been synthesised by condensing 4-hydroxycoumarins 1a-d with beta-nitrostyrenes 2a-e in the presence of pi peridine/methanol under base catalysed Nef reaction conditions.
