Abstract
For many years the role and metabolic functions of trace elements have intensively been investigated. Natural drugs are widely used for diur etic, phlegm elimination and stomach invigoration purposes. Twenty-nin e of natural drugs used by Turkish people have been subjected to trace element analysis by radioisotope excited energy dispersive x-ray fluo rescence analysis. Within this large number of different natural produ cts, seventeen elements were detected.
